Prime Path 05:
Most People's Lives Don't Work
So, so far, we've brought up two interrelated ideas:
Something Is Not Working
Most People's Lives Don't Work
What do I mean when I use the words "working" and "work?"
Technically, when I say that someone's life "works", I mean that such a person is living their life to the full, or something approaching a life lived to the full, or, at least, I mean that that person is heading effectively down a path that leads to a life lived to the full.
When I say that someone's life "works", I mean that such a person is living a life, or is steadily progressing towards living a life, that approaches the highest quality possible for a human being.
When I say that a person's life "works", then, I mean that that person, most of the time, is functional, effective, vital, joyful, self-expressive, authentic, loving, creative, and contributory. I also mean that that person, most of the time, experiences a significant degree of empowerment, enthusiasm, satisfaction, fulfillment, and affinity.
I am not saying that being such a person is "good" or "right."
I am saying that being such a person "works."
There's another way I can express what I am saying here. I could say "most people don't work", like I would say "my car doesn't work." By this I mean, "most people do not operate very functionally and effectively, and that's why their lives are not of the highest quality."
Bottom line: I am saying that something is not working, and that most people's lives don't work. I am saying that something dysfunctional is going on in the world of people, and the result is that most people are operating ineffectively--like broken down machines--in terms of living lives of the highest quality.
*ding!*
The judges like it! By jove, I think we've got it!
