Resistance And Barriers 03:
The Limitations Of Language
Before we dive into our discussion concerning resistance barriers, let me pause for a beat and make two important points:
In this conversation, I am using words to craft a model of your operations.
My intention is that you use this model as a tool in order to hone your operations such that they become more effective and productive.
Two points:
(1) As lengthy as the following conversation is, the model we are crafting is simplified. If I were to completely explain all of the following topics, I'd have to embark on a series of undergraduate and graduate level courses which, frankly, I am not qualified to teach.
In the following conversation, it's as if I am setting forth directions on how to change your car's oil (which I can do). On the other hand, it is not like I am explaining all of the operations of a modern internal combustion engine (which I cannot).
My point is, use this coaching for what it's worth--as a rough mechanical sketch that you can use to undertake basic maintenance concerning certain of your operations, so to speak.
(So, yes: as your coach, I am more akin to a mechanic than I am to a professor.)
(2) A model is not the real thing. We tend to forget this. Words set forth conceptual descriptions, whereas, you exist in experiential reality.
My point is, don't believe the following stuff, and don't disbelieve it. Don't waste your time; it's not that kind of stuff. The following conversation is a tool that you can use to the extent that it works, and that you should set aside if you find yourself in a place in which other tools work better.
Good. You get it. Let's go.
